Drive development and execution of external communications strategy to drive a corporate reputation and advance science and therapeutic area leadership of AZKK.  Leads a team of external communication managers and specialists covering corporate communications, brand and pipeline communications, disease awareness in key therapeutic areas. Contribute to regional and/or global projects in developing and implementing external communication programs and campaigns.

【Typical Accountabilities】

•    Oversee all Japan external communication activities for functions, portfolio of brands, and AZKK as enterprise
•    Lead the development and delivery of Japan external communication strategies for product brands and corporate branding for AZKK. Ensure each brand and corporate communication strategy is alined with one another, with other functional strategies, and with broader brand strategies
•    Work in partnership with busiensses and functions to ensure consistency in external messages and alignment of communication activities with internal stakeholders, including Internal Communications, Government Affairs, Medical, Commercial, R&D, HR, and Global.
•    Engage with key stakeholders across the araes of media relations, issue communictions, digital communications, and corporate branding
•    Protect and enhance corporate and brand reputation of AZKK to support the business to operate and grow. Ensure preparedness in issue management and steer issue communications in close collaboration with commercial, R&D, legal, regulatory, and other functional leaders
•    Provide public relations counsel on an ad hoc basis to all brand teams within brand portfolio and other teams in Japan as required 
•    Incorporate innovative communications channels and approaches into communication strategy    
•    Lead appropriate localization of global press releases and other communication pieces

【Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience】
<Essential>

•    Capability to develop strategy and drive implementation for corporate communications and product communications
•    Experience in managing public relations and communications in brands at different stages of the lifecycle
•    Knowledge of the pharmaceutical market and its media landscape
•    Understanding of industry complexities, including healthcare systems, compliance guidelines, ethical standards, regulatory frameworks, and pharma jargon
•    Business acumen and strategic thinking to generate influence and drive business objectives
•    Team management experience
•    Bachelor’s degree
•    Business fluency English / Native level Japanese capabilities

<Desirable>
 •    Understanding and experience of digital and social media
•    Substantial experience of healthcare communications and public relations
•    Analytical skills to draw insights, assess impact, and drive evidence-based planning
•    Experience of working in international business environment
