This is a 2-year full-time, DOL-registered Apprentice Program, starting November 25th, 2024.

This role is in our manufacturing operations site, which run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Successful applicants must be willing to work 1st Shift, 2nd Shift, and 3rd Shift on a rotating basis, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

What You Will Do

Through the apprenticeship, you will receive training in the maintenance of technical infrastructure and process validation and improvement. Within our Operations business area, the Manufacturing function is responsible for producing our medicines, everything from receipt of materials, through processing, and packaging.

As a Maintenance Technician, you may carry out duties such as:

  • Supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
  • Performing cleaning and lean manufacturing activities in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
  • Documenting maintenance work orders in our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

 Minimum Requirements

  • 0 years of related work experience required
  • Must have earned a high school diploma or equivalency diploma by start date
  • Must be willing to take 30-min, multiple-choice, online assessment
  • The ability to stand for prolonged periods as this is an "on the floor" role that requires cleanroom gowning and physically lifting as much 50Lbs at times
  • Must be able to commute daily to the AstraZeneca facility

Preferred Requirements

  • Proficiency in English
  • High school science (Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences

Application and Interview Processes

Please note that applicants must submit:

  • Resume of current or previous work history
  • Proof of completion from an accredited high school (diploma/GED),
  • May consider proof of enrollment (written documentation from the school administrator) if you will graduate by the start date.

As this is a nationally registered apprenticeship, you will receive a Department of Labor Voluntary Disability Disclosure Form after you submit your application.

All applicants are required to complete a 30-minute, multiple-choice online assessment. You will receive the assessment within 2 weeks of applying, and you will have 5 days to complete it. If selected, our virtual panel interviews are tentatively scheduled during the week of October 21, 2024.

About our Coppell, TX Site

Coppell is one of eight AZ US manufacturing sites. Situated just 20 miles northwest of Dallas, our site includes manufacturing, laboratory, warehousing, utilities, and administrative space. The site is dedicated to the global production and supply of Lokelma, a cardio-renal medicine that reaches patients worldwide.  The Coppell site offers convenient amenities including an on-site café, food delivery service, and a fitness center.
