Global Policy Project Manager

As Global Policy Project Manager you will support the Global Policy, Advocacy and Health Equity (PAHE) team and work closely with the team’s chief of staff in executing the team strategy, leading projects through which we foster top talent and peak performance within the team, upskill the enterprise on key topics relate to policy, advocacy and health equity and effectively communicate internally and externally.

You will also dedicate a portion of your time hands-on support of AZ’s flagship platform which exemplifies our leadership in driving sustainable healthcare delivery: the Partnership for Health System Sustainability and Resilience (PHSSR). Supporting the execution of key tasks related to the management of the platform and working closely with a broad stakeholder network of external partners (agencies, academics, NGOs) and internally - global, regional and national teams across the globe, you will see the impact of your work in the development and implementation of recommendations pertaining to key challenges facing health systems.

Main duties and responsibilities

Project management of core Policy, Advocacy and Health Equity team priorities (70% of time):

  • Development of regular, high-quality team internal communications, including collating content, reviewing, editing and proposing cascade plan.
  • Coordinating the build out and maintenance of a one-stop-shop for the enterprise, holding key policy, advocacy and health equity deliverables and assets.
  • Supporting the organization of team and LT meetings, including building out slides, developing briefings and coordinating input.
  • Organization and coordination of learning sessions on policy, advocacy and health equity topics on demand for the team and GCA.  
  • Supporting in implementation of solutions and governance mechanisms which simplify work processes for the team.
  • Maintain well-structured and updated working environment for core team assets (on MS Teams, Box, etc.).

Support the development of the PHSSR (30% of time):

You will support internal and external partners to ensure continuous growth and impact delivered by the Partnership by supporting:

  • The Partnership’s programme management team in developing agendas, briefings and presentations for meetings, actioning Steering Committee action items, setting up and managing new research projects.
  • External communications for and about the Partnership.
  • Global engagements and events, including PHSSR engagements at platforms like WEF Annual meeting, EXPO, the WHA and the PHSSR Summit.

You will also work closely with internal teams on global, regional and national levels (>30 markets) to support in seamless delivery of company objectives in the PHSSR, including:

  • Ensuring internal access & awareness on PHSSR resources and deliverables, preparing internal updates.
  • Supporting and tracking delivery against national and global scorecard goals and objectives.

To be successful in the role of Global Policy Project Manager you will develop strong, trusted partnerships with a variety of internal and (to a lesser extent) external stakeholders. You are responsive, efficient in executing tasks, a “can-do” attitude and willing to find solutions to challenges which require multi-stakeholder alignment and relationship management. You are detailed oriented and have the skills and capabilities to communicate clearly in English in both verbal and written forms.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of corporate affairs project management/communications experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong planning skills, including budgeting, tracking, assets storing and structuring.
  • Excellent written skills and skills in developing high quality presentations (MS Powerpoint).
  • Problem solving – ability to resolve conflict and deal with a wide range of complex problems independently
  • Track record of successful projects managed from ideation to execution.
  • Awareness of pharmaceutical industry compliance requirements.
  • Ability to execute, internal and external, complex, matrixed projects, achieving results independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and be exposed to a range of fascinating topics related to health policy, advocacy and health equity, generating opportunity for further career development in this field.
  • Fluent English is a requirement; fluent second language would be an advantage.
  • Education in health policy or a related field is a plus.
