Engineering Lead/Manager - Evinova

Are you a self-motivated individual with a passion for development? Evinova is currently seeking an Engineering Lead/Manager to join our Product Engineering team. In this role, you will be the engineering lead for our successful product, Study Design and Planning (SDP). You will be leading engineering squads for SDP in Barcelona and will be a part of our global product engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your technical acumen to help the team continue to deliver extraordinary solutions.

As an engineering lead, you will be responsible and accountable for the work you and your team deliver. You will be partnering with product and design leads and provide engineering inputs into shaping the product roadmap. You are expected to have the technical skills to build and maintain a technology roadmap that aligns with and implements product roadmap. You will be working in close collaboration with Delivery manager to ensure smooth releases and raise risks in a timely manner. You will be collaborating with scrum master to assign work to your team members based on their abilities and interests.  You will be working with people across multiple locations and are expected to coordinate with both internal employees and external contractors

As an engineering lead, you are expected to provide tailored, high quality, operationally sustainable and complete solutions. A solution is considered complete after you have developed, tested and released it. As a part of this:

  • You will be accountable for technology roadmap
  • You will be working with partners to provide estimates for requirements.
  • You will be responsible for defining coding patterns, and ensuring the team follows them.
  • You will be working with infrastructure/platform teams to maintain deployment pipelines.
  • You will also be responsible for putting proper processes in place for code reviews, aligning with test leads on defining testing methodologies and tools - to enable proper testing.

We consider individuals in this role to be our top tier Software Engineers. A premier software engineer is capable of working in multiple spaces and is likely to be the most experienced and skilled engineer on the team to begin with.  Learning new technology is part of that. However, you must have deep technical skills. Here are a few skills we are looking for in a person for this role –

Experience leading different technology areas into a product technology roadmap including:

  • Proficiency in traditional software programming languages like Java
  • Proficiency in Angular, ReactTS, NodeTS
  • Experience with working with Databases like PostgreSQL, MongoDB
  • Experience with Rest API and general API design and usage
  • Experience with cloud computing services like AWS.
  • Experience with process tools like JIRA, Confluence and CI/CD tools like Github
  • Experience with Monitoring tools like Splunk and AppDynamics
  • Problem solving
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technologies
  • Experience leading teams, delivering and supporting solutions

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Computer Science, Information Science, or equivalent degree is preferred.
  • Long history of enjoying problem solving and building things.
  • 7-8 years of hands on software development experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership responsibilities on software products.
