Global Medical Training Specialist
Introduction to role:
This role is based in Barcelona, with an on-site commitment of three days a week. Fluency in English is required.

Accountabilities:
- Launch support: Collaborate closely with strategic leaders to integrate AI-enhanced tools in launch content creation and learning experiences, accelerating knowledge dissemination.
- Tech Stack Management: Manage relationships internally with GLS and IT to leverage AI, machine learning, and automation to ensure high-quality, scalable, and compliant training delivery within budget and timelines.
- Training Quality: Ensure the training designed upholds the high-quality standards expected for Alexion by demonstrating expectations. Report deviations in standard and look to solve issues identified.
- Online Learning Lead: Drive continuous improvement using AI-powered analytics and feedback systems to monitor training effectiveness and ensure consistent quality standards.
- Automation and AI Integration Lead: Own the maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancement of automated workflows, agentic AI, and AI-driven tools that streamline training delivery, content updates, and learner engagement.
- Self-Development: Cultivate expertise in digital training technologies, virtual instructor-led platforms, and AI tools to deliver innovative live and virtual training experiences.
- Future Focus: Conduct horizon scanning for emerging AI, digital learning innovations, and automation technologies to embed into Alexion's training ecosystem, fostering a digitally fluent learning culture.
- Culture Change Agent: Champion digital transformation and adoption of AI-powered learning culture within Alexion, inspiring continuous evolution and openness to technological advancement.
- TA Focus: Work within a specific TA, delivering and supporting training initiatives under the guidance of the Global Medical Director for that ‘pod’ with the expectation to share learnings across the whole medical training team to drive consistency in our approach.
You may be required to support the following tasks:
- Communication Lead: Design data-driven and AI-enhanced communication strategies ensuring clear, tailored messaging of training initiatives.
- Analytics Lead: Use advanced analytics and AI tools to extract insights from training data, guiding adaptive learning strategies and performance improvement.
- Feedback/Survey Lead: Implement AI-assisted sentiment analysis and feedback tools to gain real-time learner insights and optimize training content. Collaborate with Field Capabilities team to understand impact of training interventions.
- Training Uptake Lead: Leverage predictive analytics to monitor and drive training participation and completion rates across diverse teams globally.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or tertiary degree in clinical science, education or related fields with a strong affinity for technology.
- Minimum 12 months’ experience in training and development within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry, with experience supporting digital or technology-enabled learning.
- Proven ability to collaborate with diverse global teams and technology experts.
- Proficiency in analytics platforms and tools with an understanding of AI and automation applications in learning.
- Strong project management skills with experience in implementing tech-driven solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technological information clearly.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Prior experience working with AI, machine learning, or automation tools in a learning and development context.
- Knowledge of adult learning theories augmented by technology-driven instructional design.
- Fluency in one or more additional languages to support global training initiatives.
- Enthusiasm and proven aptitude for continuous learning of emerging digital technologies.
