Automation Graduate Engineer
This is what you will do:
The Automation Graduate is required to work with the Automation Engineering Team on site at Alexion Athlone in both the Biologics and Fill Finish facility under the direction of the Automation Engineer in each area.
The chosen candidate will be working with and supporting other team members on all automation systems. They will have assigned responsibilities for ensuring all manufacturing requirements are met from an Automation perspective within the Biologics and Fill Finish facilities. In addition, they will be involved in ongoing and new projects/product introduction activities.
This is a technical role requiring problem solving through data analysis using scientific methods focusing on process capability.
The role will require the candidate to work closely with other departments such as Manufacturing, Engineering, Utilities and Quality Assurance.
This role will report into the Snr Manager, Manufacturing Systems or an appropriate delegate and will offer scope for both personal and future career development.

You will be responsible for:
Work as a member of the in-house Automation team, to configure and implement changes and improvements to all automation systems in the Alexion Athlone Manufacturing Facility (AAMF) in line with site and departmental procedures.
Work independently with peer guidance support where appropriate.
Ensure all automation systems are delivered and maintained in a compliant and qualified state.
Perform all job functions in compliance with cGMPs, Data Integrity principles, and maintain accurate and legible records in line with ALCOA principles.
Provide automation support to the engineering and operations department on design and sustaining decisions.
Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure a high level of optimization for equipment and processes.
Provide automation support for New Product Introduction (NPI) as required.
Provide automation support for validation activities as required.
Assist in development, review and approval where appropriate of automation design documentation.
Contribute towards continuous improvement of standard operating procedures, and processes, to ensure the future compliance and management of all automation systems.
Assist in training personnel on specific automation aspects of equipment.
Ensure training is current for all job functions. Attend all required company training.
Any other duties as required.
We would prefer for you to have:
At least 1 year of experience working within the industry supporting cGMP environments and applications.
The individual in this position is expected to have an understanding of Manufacturing Systems and their philosophy.
The individual should have an aptitude for computer systems, networking concepts and have an interest in application programming.
The individual should have a proven history of working under minimal supervision and should have a pro-active attitude.
The individual shall have a proven history of showing initiative across other projects and being able to prioritize when required.
The position requires the individual to have some experience of working collaboratively with colleagues, peers, managers and other related departments representatives and stakeholders.
A good understanding of change management and its relevant platforms (knowledge of TrackWise and FirstDoc systems) would be beneficial.
B.S. degree level qualification in Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent)
