【Alexion Japan】Regional Sales Director Neurology Business Unit

You will be responsible for:

  • Accountable for overall sales performance for the assigned region. Lead the team to consistently meet or exceed sales targets.

  • Develop regional implementation strategy for assigned brands. Set clear direction, guidance, and expectations for the regional sales team. Thoughtfully allocate budgets and programs within the region to achieve business objectives.
  • Oversee translation of regional strategy into specific territory plans by MCCs. Ensure plans reflect area dynamics, customer insights, and business unit strategy.
  • Continuously evaluate overall regional performance and invididual territory contributions. Analyze relevant data, synthesize insights, and take appropriate actions to ensure delivery on objectives.
  • Provide ongoing coaching for direct reports. Conduct regular field visits, feedback sessions, and business reviews. Help evelate their skills and capabilities as rare disease sales experts.
  • Recruit and retain high-caliber talent. Support direct reports’ long-term growth and career development.
  • Effectively and responsibly represent Alexion in engagements with HCPs and other external stakeholders. Cultivate relationships that enable productive dialogue on disease and appropriate management.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal cross-functional stakeholders. Represent the voice of customers to help shape the business unit strategy and enable insight-driven decisions.
  • Embody Alexion’s core values through daily behaviors and interactions. Foster a positive team environment and culture aligned to core values.
  • Ensure all members of the team operates with strict adherence to compliance and code of conduct.

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or other relevant areas
  • ≥10 years of biopharmaceutical commercial experience in Japan
  • ≥5 years of sales leadership and team management experience
  • Proven track record of sales results in rare disease and/or specialty care
  • Demonstrated expertise with new product launches in the field
  • Strong engagement, communication, and relational skills
  • Effective coaching and people development skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and growth mindset
  • Ability to network and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Passion for making a positive contribution to the rare disease community
  • Fluency in Japanese

We would prefer for you to have:

  • Advanced degree (e.g. MBA, MS)
  • Rare disease experience in Neurology diseases
  • Broader commercial experience beyond sales (e.g. marketing, market planning, commercial operations, KOL engagement, etc.)
  • Prior experience building and expanding sales teams
  • Proficiency or fluency in English
