What you’ll do

The Head of Human Resources is a full-time position, leading and executing people strategy which aligns with business needs and company goals and strategies to support business development.

As Head of HR, you have full responsibility for architecting and implementing company strategy relating to Human Resources throughout HK and Macau, which is aligned with the organisation's vision and its current and long-term business objectives. You will be acting as a trusted partner, coach, mentor, and advisor to the Leadership team to enable high performance through people in line with business strategy and company purpose, mindset and core values.  You will be a member of leadership teams. This position report directly into the General Manager of Hong Kong & Macau, functionally to China HR VP.

Your job responsibilities will be, but not limited to:

  • Develop and implement the people strategy for HK, that is aligned with the organisation's vision and its current and long-term business objectives

  • Through end to end Organization and Talent Planning sessions, ensure the building of strong pipelines for business critical roles. 

  • Together with functional leaders, identify, discuss talents which help support talents’ long term career goals and AZ business needs.

  • Identify organizational pain points and drive actions to help improve employee engagement and retention as Great Place to Work.

  • Play an active role of catalyst of change by enabling key business transformations supporting the business in communicating and enabling change within the business area from HR perspective

  • Build capability within the HR function to deliver against objectives, mentoring and developing talent

  • Working closely together with HR CoE to assure alignment with the overall strategy and service delivery

  • Orchestrate and oversee continuous evolution of key people practices (org. design, job evaluation and reward, recruitment, succession planning, talent management, performance development, etc) to ensure that they stay relevant to current and future business needs and align with global policy.

  • Partners with line management to model, shape and assess an organizational culture that supports the achievement of business objectives, including goal and role alignment, incentives and accountabilities.

  • Demonstrates a balanced perspective when dealing with employee-related issues, striving for organizational justice.

  • Ensure flawless execution of HR functions (i.e. staffing, compensation and benefits administration, employee relations, employment law, policy administration, HR data management, etc.)

  • Consults and actively influences managers on resource allocation when implementing realignments, outsourcing and growth.

Essential for the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resources Management

  • 10 years of HR experience in which at least 3 years strategic HR Business Partnering experience in MNC

  • Strong commercial acumen

  • Ability to translation business strategy into actionable people strategy and execute successfully.

  • Technical HR knowledge associated with multiple discipline

  • Strong project management skills and able to demonstrate experience of managing complex HR projects

  • Professionalism in local labour ordinance and related law

  • Self-starter with a drive to make things happen

  • Strong emotional intelligence, listening, influencing and coaching skills

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft office

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills of both oral and written in English and Cantonese

Desirable for the role

  • People Management Experience

  • Pharmaceutical experience

  • Experience of large/global matrix organisations

  • Proficiency in Mandarin
