The Rare Disease Product and Strategy Territory (RPST) Manager represents Alexion in the field with a purpose to drive sustainable patient impact and territory growth in Wallonia and Luxembourg by building strategic, insight-led partnerships with decision-makers across rare disease expert centers and disease-specific key accounts in hematology, nephrology, and neurology, ensuring the safe and effective use of Alexion medicines and optimized patient pathways.

The position requires strong scientific knowledge and business acumen, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively within a complex hospital account environment.

You will be responsible for:

  • Relationship management: Establish and sustain high-value relationships with key decision-makers across rare disease expert centers and disease-specific key accounts; act as the primary Alexion point of contact for stakeholders across Wallonia and Luxembourg.
  • Account planning: Develop insight-based account plans for all top accounts and treatment centers in hematology, nephrology, and neurology; represent the territory in regular reviews and account plan discussions.
  • Cross-functional execution: Lead development and implementation of customer-focused and patient-centered tactics developed in collaboration with Marketing, Medical, Market Access, and Patient Advocacy, supporting HCP education and patient-oriented solutions across targeted specialties.
  • Organizational and pathway insights: Build an in-depth understanding of key account structures and regional patient pathways (including referral networks and diagnostic flows) to support disease awareness, timely diagnosis, safe and effective use of our medicines, and patient journeys across all targeted diseases.
  • Network building: Build a solid network of effective, trusted relationships with hospitals, university centers, regional labs, decision makers, and influencers in Wallonia and Luxembourg; develop Alexion’s image via partnerships with local scientific organizations.
  • Scientific engagement: Create value for HCPs by discussing the latest, in-label scientific data using approved promotional elements; organize hospital promotional meetings and regional education/speaker sessions in line with SOPs and local regulations.
  • Tender management: When public tenders arise in the territory, collaborate closely with the Key Hospital Access Manager.
  • Marketing support: Support marketing colleagues in developing promotional elements, campaigns and strategic plans that deliver strong value to external stakeholders.
  • Compliance and ethics: Always act ethically per Alexion policies and local regulatory frameworks (Belgium and Luxembourg); collect and communicate pharmacovigilance information according to Alexion procedures; ensure appropriate utilization for patients receiving Alexion medicines, where required.
  • CRM and reporting: Ensure timely, accurate input of relevant information into CRM systems; deliver complete reporting and presentation of account plans, including KPIs, to leadership.

You will need to have:

  • Education:
    • B.A. or B.S. degree in a scientific or related field or qualified nurse or other degree-level ancillary medical staff (e.g. Physiotherapy or Clinical Research Scientist) and/or equivalent experience.
  • Qualifications:
    • Experience: Significant experience in rare diseases within hospital/specialty settings, specifically across hematology, nephrology, and neurology; track record of managing complex accounts and multi-disciplinary stakeholders; experience with Belgian/Luxembourg healthcare systems.
    • Knowledge: Strong understanding of patient journeys, diagnostic pathways, and access dynamics in Belgium and Luxembourg; familiarity with regional referral networks and payer structures (e.g., INAMI/RIZIV, CNS, hospital processes).
    • Skills: Stakeholder engagement, strategic account planning, cross-functional collaboration, scientific communication, negotiation.
    • Tools: Proficiency with CRM platforms and KPI reporting; comfort with virtual and in-person engagement across the territory.
    • Technology-savvy: Proficient with digital engagement tools; comfortable leveraging virtual meeting platforms, remote detailing, and compliant omnichannel tactics across the territory.
    • Language: Fluency in French and professional proficiency in English; Dutch or Luxembourgish is a plus for broader stakeholder coverage.

    • Communication: Conveys complex, in-label scientific information clearly and compliantly. Strong public speaking and presentation skills
  • Performance Measures (KPIs)
    • Account plan execution: Completion and quality of insight-based plans for top centers in hematology, nephrology, neurology; outcomes driven territory reviews.
    • Stakeholder engagement: Growth and quality of interactions with KOLs, HCPs, and hospital stakeholders; follow-through on action items.
    • Education and initiatives: Number and impact of compliant scientific and educational activities.
    • CRM and reporting: Timeliness and accuracy of CRM entries; completeness of KPI reporting to leadership.
    • Compliance metrics: Pharmacovigilance reporting adherence, SOP compliance, training completion and audit readiness.
