What you'll do:

Medical HealthCare Partner is a scientific and healthcare expert in the field to foster a new way of contributing to the Health System, and therefore impacting patients’ lives with a focus on engaging in high-level scientific exchange, on building and maintaining peer-to peer relationship with external experts, understanding and uncovering unmet medical needs, generating insight, and field implementation of innovative projects or solutions.

Tasks will include:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the Healthcare System Pathways regarding breast cancer setting.  
  • Active mapping of initiatives and insights from the Healthcare System that can contribute to the improvement of patient pathway. Proactively drive and/or support sustainable system transformation for patient management.
  • Work in a cross-functional team as a medical-scientific expert in the breast cancer therapeutic area.
  • Help developing the medical strategy and its implementation within the framework of the integrated plan, based amongst others upon the external medical environment insights.  
  • Prepare, manage, execute, and follow a tailored field medical and communication plan aligned with breast cancer therapeutic area.
  • Build and maintain peer level relationship with key external experts to support understanding of the Portuguese healthcare ecosystem & clinical dynamics and to engage with the medical / scientific community in a highly credible, balanced, and objective manner, representing AstraZeneca’s dedication to and excellence in science. 
  • Support local, regional, and global AstraZeneca clinical research program and externally sponsored research projects.  
  • Foster opportunities to build real-world evidence data generation projects in collaboration with the medical and evidence generation team.
  • Partnering with other internal stakeholders providing medical-scientific contribution on account working. 
  • Help set up and provide medical-scientific training and further education in your therapeutic area for the sales force and other AZ personnel. 
  • Organization and execution of field medical and communication plan.
  • Support of the Medical Governance Team (Medical Information / Patient Safety) in handling of external medical and scientific requests 

Profile:

  • University degree in a health-related scientific field.
  • Good understanding of oncology (preferably: breast cancer oncology setting).
  • Professional experience of working in the pharmaceutical industry, preferentially in a field medical role or within Medical Affairs. Breast cancer therapeutic area experience within linical research will also be considered.
  • Project management skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the legal and ethical framework and the procedural guidelines that apply to the promotion and approval of medicinal products in Portugal.
  • Quick self-learner, ability, and willingness to work in a team and independently.
  • Communicative competence and presentation skills.
  • Very good knowledge of spoken and written Portuguese.
  • Very good command of written and spoken English.
  • High-level of scientific knowledge and ability to analyze and process clinical and scientific data.
  • Experience in liaising with healthcare professionals.
