Job Description

As the Technical Solution Program Manager, you will support the Process Controlled Transportation (PCT) team in delivering global business programs and the associated benefit realisation.  The job holder will lead complex, cross functional, global programs delivering innovative Logistics and Digital solutions aimed at increasing visibility and agility while reducing costs and environmental impact within the Pharmaceutical Industry.  The projects may include responsibility for managing budgets and facilitating both internal and external teams of global, cross functional specialists.

Accountabilities

• Lead global and cross-functional programs involving PCT team, ensuring the program/ project is managed in line with AZ project management framework (PMF)/ organizational change framework (CMF) standards.

• Accountable for the delivery of national or international logistics-related projects and programs of work ensuring that they are delivered on time, to budget and in line with the agreed financial and non-financial business benefits.

• Overcome complex problems that will require innovative and well-developed solutions, demonstrating AstraZeneca lean tools where necessary.

• Lead the development of cases for potential new operations projects.

• Lead the creation of the project plan via the project sponsor agreeing the plan including activities, resources, costs, risks, role and responsibilities and quality assurance.

• Ensure adherence to project work plans and recommend any required revisions as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.

• Effectively communicate any impacts and changes that result from the project to the business.

• Responsible for building and leading project teams and ensuring that roles and responsibilities are clearly communicated and that all project documentation is complete, current and stored appropriately.

• Responsible for building project/program improvement plans ensuring that all project risks are identified and managed effectively by the business leaders and project team.

• Responsible for resolving project quality and compliance risks and issues and where appropriate bring up these to your project sponsor.

• Manage relationships with key business collaborators to ensure business requirements are effectively captured and committed to the objectives of the project.

• Contribute to standardization, continuous improvement and development of the frameworks and processes within the PCT team as required.

• Host manager responsible for supporting direct line managers and local Logistics staff.

• Conduct activities and interactions consistent with what we value and in compliance with the Code of Conduct and supporting Policies and Standards relevant to your role. Complete all required training on the AZ Code of Conduct and supporting Policies and Standards on time. Report potential issues of non-compliance.

• Ensure and monitor compliance by team members and third parties by (a) positively reinforcing the Code of Conduct and all relevant AstraZeneca Policies and Standards, (b) ensuring completion of all required training, (c) fostering a culture of openness in which employees are comfortable raising questions or concerns, and (d) immediately addressing and reporting, as appropriate, instances of non-compliance.

• Leaders with accountability for GXP areas are expected to understand the legal and regulatory requirements of their roles in providing appropriate resources (which could be human, financial, material, facilities, and equipment) to maintain the Quality system and continually improve its effectiveness.

Requirements

• Degree level education in business, science, engineering, or supply chain/logistics

• Significant theoretical & practical knowledge of project management, risk management, change management and communication with shown delivery.

• Experience leading business critical projects/programmes integrating people, process, and technology to meet business imperatives.

• Ability to lead and develop cross-functional teams, plan and complete multiple project tasks and multiple projects concurrently.

• Ability to handle cultural differences sensitively and negotiate different interests.

• Strong organisational and interpersonal skills

• Good business insight and strong analytical skills

• Experience working with policies, procedures, and guidelines.

• Experience within Supply Chain, Distribution or Logistics

Desirable

• Project Management Certification

• Pharmaceutical/Bio pharmaceutical experience

• Analytical capability

• LEAN certification (ie. 6 Sigma)

• Understanding of transport qualification, process validation, cold chain logistics industry standards, and validation compliance

• Good working knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry
