Introduction to role:
Join our Enterprise Data Office (EDO) as a Senior Information Architect, specializing in Master and Reference Data Management (MRDM). Our EDO is a central IT function responsible for enterprise strategy and standards in Data. We work closely with data delivery teams across Business Technology Group (BTG) IT teams and data governance teams SET Area (Line of Business) Data Offices (SEDO). We are seeking a Senior Information Architect to drive out enterprise thinking and delivery across AstraZeneca IT function.
Accountabilities:
As a Senior Information Architect, you will be responsible for delivering architectural thought leadership artefacts and outputs related to MRDM. You will define, lead, and deliver coherent strategic and tactical architectural thinking across information and data architectures. You will support the EDO engineering teams in realizing the MRDM strategy, surfacing requirements to drive the delivery backlog. You will also be responsible for architecture and technology evangelization, architecture roadmap, and alignment.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent number of years of experience in a Computer Science or Data Management related field.
- Experience in leading and delivering enterprise data platform/MRDM architectural thinking, and its practical application.
- Experience in the use of conceptual and logical data modeling technologies.
- Experience in defining and working with information and data regulatory governances.
- The role holder will possess a blend of data/information architecture, analysis, and engineering skills.
- Experience in known industry IT architectural patterns and IT architecture ways of working/methodologies (e.g. FAIR data principles, Data Mesh).
- Understands Data Platforms concepts and cloud-based containerization strategies for hybrid cloud environments.
- Understanding the appropriate data structure and technology based on business use case and completely familiar with data lifecycles.
- Post-graduate degree in MIS, Data Management
- Extensive experience in a senior information/data architecture role
- Experience of Information and Data Governance frameworks and their application in a commercial organisation
- Experience in Agile data definition scrums.
- Experience in the use of tooling, e.g. metadata cataloguing tools, data modelling tools, EA tools
- Understanding of, or familiarity with, Data Mesh approaches
- Experience in the Pharmaceutical industry delivering architectural change.
