Medical Science Liaison (Respiratory & Immunology)

Location: CENTRAL Switzerland (focus on BS, AG, BE, LU)

We are currently seeking a Medical Science Liaison in the Respiratory area to play a leading role in our Medical Affairs R&I/V&I Department. This is an exciting opportunity to be a scientific ambassador for AstraZeneca, equipped with the knowledge you'll need to keep pace with sophisticated science and the latest changes in medical practice and therapeutics worldwide.

Accountabilities:

As a Medical Science Liaison, you will be a scientific expert in the field, engaging in high-level scientific exchange, building and maintaining peer-to-peer relationships with external experts, and uncovering unmet medical needs. You will coordinate scientific exchange meetings, deliver presentations, and engage with external experts to identify clinical unmet needs & evidence gaps. This role will have a strong focus on launch readiness given our strong pipeline in Respiratory.

Crucial Skills/Experience:

  • Professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably as Medical Science Liaison or within Medical Affairs in the field of Pulmonology
  • Extensive knowledge of the legal and ethical framework, regulatory framework and the procedural guidelines that apply to the promotion and approval of medicinal products in Switzerland
  • University or MD degree in a health-related scientific field
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability in collaborating closely with healthcare professionals & working in cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Solid organizational and project management skills, balancing multiple products and therapeutic areas in parallel
  • Proficiency in German and English
  • Driving license, and willingness to drive within Switzerland

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Proactivity within the given responsibilities and willingness to work in a team and independently
  • Very good understanding of respiratory & immunology with the ability to analyse and process clinical and scientific data
  • Knowledge of French or Italian language
