We are seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Procurement Global Category Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies specific to the legal category, including engaging with external law firms and managing high-value contracts. This individual will work closely with legal and business stakeholders to optimize value and mitigate risk within the legal category.
Accountabilities:
- As a Global Category Manager, you will develop and optimize category strategies, ensuring a fully integrated and customer-aligned AZ-wide category plan.
- Collaborate closely with the wider Professional Services Procurement team, Regional Category Managers and AZ’s broader Procurement network as well as stakeholders in the Legal and Legal Operations Team to deliver category strategy implementation.
- Overseeing the implementation of category plans to ensure that the underpinning process improvement and procurement activities deliver the expected business value, in accordance with the strategic plans.
- Partnering with AstraZeneca’s GPS organization in Warsaw (Global Procurement Services) advising on and driving procurement strategies, to make decisions necessary, to purchase products and services in congruence with organizational objectives.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Degree level or equivalent qualifications
- Significant negotiation experience, preferably with external law firms
- Project management, change management and people management skills
- Technical expertise in across the whole lifecycle of Procurement activities
- Communication skills and ability to influence others
- Teamwork focused and relationship builder: Works well with others, across departments, levels and cultures
- Comfortable with risk and ambiguous situations
- Intercultural awareness
- Proficiency in Procurement and other business-related systems, e.g. SAP, Coupa, PowerBI.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in Legal Procurement Category Management
- Experience in law firm pricing models & negotiations.
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) Procurement, preferably in relation to Legal Services
- Experience in either a global, regional or local category management role
- Experience of working in a complex matrix organization
