Enterprise Snowflake Data Platform Senior Engineer

We seek a Lead Engineer to enhance, mature, and drive the adoption of our Enterprise Snowflake Data Platform across Business Technology Groups.
Join the IGNITE Enterprise Data Office (EDO) – Data & Information Availability Services (DIAS), a central team spearheading enterprise data engineering platforms and solutions. We manage enterprise technology platforms that empower AZ data engineers to take on data challenges effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior technical leader within the Snowflake team, understanding data engineers' objectives and ensuring platform design and configuration meet their needs for efficient service utilization.
- Advance the platform by establishing connectivity to additional systems, evaluating and enabling new features, and optimizing self-service tools.
- Design and implement complex access control and data privacy frameworks, recommending efficient, cost-effective solutions aligned with infrastructure governance.
- Drive automation in Snowflake metadata management, cost governance, and reporting, while implementing CI/CD and test automation strategies.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in designing, building, and managing Snowflake or similar data platforms, and engineering business applications on one or more data platforms.
- Strong understanding of Cloud services, SaaS platforms architecture, and infrastructure management principles, including compute and storage.
- Familiarity with enterprise operations in large organizations with globally dispersed teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in networking (VPNs), authentication (SSO, OAuth, Key Pair), and authorization/access controls (role, policy, tag-based).
- Ability to promote 'Enterprise Ways of Working' and advocate for Snowflake technology within the AZ Data, Visualization, and AI community.
