Introduction to role:
As a Director, Commercial Insights & Analytics, you'll be a key player in driving the success of our US Commercial organization. You will be the catalyst for transformative strategies, interfacing with senior leadership to identify opportunities, optimize resources, and implement data-driven insights. Your visionary approach and collaborative spirit will empower decision-making and elevate our business impact.
Accountabilities:
Proactively identify opportunities/threats leveraging data and business context to enable better decision making at Alexion
Act as a central point of expertise and drive collaboration with Marketing Leadership, business units, and Business Operations colleagues to provide advice on key strategic questions
Support the assessment of Commercial strategies and tactics to quantify ROI and to make recommendations to optimize the use of existing/future resources
Collaborate with leadership and within Business Operations to support Commercial strategies and tactics using data and derived insights, which contribute directly to the growth and optimization of Alexion’s business
Evolve analytical tools and methods
Support development of monthly and quarterly business reviews that provide insights on past performance and leading indicators of future performance and growth
Responsively provide high quality solutions and answers to ad-hoc analytic requests
Essential skills/experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Finance, or other quantitative discipline
7+ years of experience in Business Analytics and/or Financial Analysis
Exceptional communication and creative problem-solving skills
Understanding of organizational dynamics and ability to influence at all levels of the organization
Confidence and ability to present complex information concisely and effectively to all audiences, including senior leaders and groups
Advanced knowledge and application of analytics, modeling, and valuation concepts (NPV, ROI, IRR) in the biopharmaceutical industry
Strong analytical and organization skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to anticipate future Commercial trends and to integrate that context into business practices
Desire and ability to learn/implement new tools and capabilities
Experience leading technical teams and individuals across geographies
Track record of effective functional and cross-functional collaboration and leadership
Detail-oriented, self-starter, able to work both independently and in a team environment

Desirable skills/experience:
MBA or advanced quantitative discipline degree preferred
Prior experience in rare disease
