Business Analyst - Patient Services IT

This is what you will do:

The Patient Services IT Business Systems Analyst will play a critical role in analyzing, designing, and implementing IT systems and solutions that support patient services and enhance the overall patient experience. This individual will collaborate with various business functions within the US Commercial areas and technology teams to define processes, identify improvement opportunities, and implement new functionality to enable the delivery of business objectives through technology.  This role will partner with a Project manager and solution Deliver manager to ensure projects are managed to the original requirements, tested and delivered on time and on budget meeting business needs.  This is a business-facing and technology-facing role, requiring excellent communication and organizational skills to create alignment across multiple stakeholders.

You will be responsible for:

• Lead the analysis, design, and implementation of IT systems and solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic initiatives.
• Apply advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities for process improvement, optimization, and innovation through technology.
• Understand and prioritize business requirements from multiple collaborators and proactively seek opportunities to enhance and improve in line with strategic goals.
• Interpret business requirements, effectively communicate impact, cost, and benefits of new and changed demands
• Work with business and IT partners to propose and deliver solutions that achieve agreed outcomes and fulfill future strategic needs and challenges.
• Collaborate with technology teams to identify the capabilities required to ensure requirements are clearly understood and can be delivered.
• Facilitate and lead design sessions with the business and implementation team to identify functional and technical requirements.
• Define project scope and goals for small projects, set a budget and schedule, and provide hands-on leadership, planning, coordination, and delivery of key projects.
• Collate information from relevant sources for analysis and reporting relevant data trends for informed decision making and communicate with the relevant collaborators.

• Provide insight & innovation to projects within own specialist area, aligning to Alexion/AZ IT strategy and working with Alexion/AZ IT partners.
• Shape and define arguments, producing detailed business justification for investment including value and benefits realization.
• Work with colleagues across the technology teams, (e.g., architects and engineers) within the function to identify the capabilities required to ensure outcomes/requirements and clearly understood and can be delivered.
• Work with Process/Product owners to identify and devise solutions that optimize business process performance, capability, and competitiveness.
• Facilitate and lead design sessions with the business and implementation team to identify functional and technical requirements.
• Define project scope and goals for small projects that deliver or support delivery of effective solutions.
• Setting a budget and schedule.
• Hands on leadership, planning, coordination, and delivery of aspects of key projects, including facilitation of meetings, tracking, reporting and communicating progress, as well as risks and issues as necessary.
• Collate information from relevant sources for analysis and reporting relevant data trends for informed decision making for positive business impact.
• Communicate with the relevant collaborators and transfer relevant knowledge to delivery teams, i.e., translation using levels of interactive communication and influencing skills. Contributes to communication plans and organizational change for project and collaborators.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the business analysis team, promoting professional growth and knowledge sharing.

You will need to have:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Business IT Analyst, with a proven track record of leading and delivering complex technology projects
• Previous experience working in a pharmaceutical or life sciences background or equivalent

• Demonstrable experience of successfully managing IT projects end to end, both waterfall and agile
• Strong understanding of business processes, requirements gathering, and documentation, with expertise in analyzing data, creating process flow diagrams, and documenting system requirements

• Demonstrable experience of working with complex integrated systems, using creative and critical thinking to deliver exceptional results

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization

• Experience of working in a regulated environment
• The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment.  As is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to mentor and guide junior team members, and the aptitude to drive strategic initiatives forward.

We would prefer for you to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in a biopharmaceutical or IT field is preferred.

• Strong understanding of project management methodologies.
• Pharmaceutical business background with experience supporting Patient Services organizations is preferred
• Experience of virtual teamwork to lead, shape and develop innovative solutions
• Experience of working with and managing third party suppliers/vendors
