Associate Director, Medical Communications and Information
The Associate Director, Medical Communications & Information, is accountable for the execution of US & Global MC&I brand/therapeutic area deliverables. This includes responding to medical inquiries from healthcare professionals, reviewing and providing scientific consults for promotional materials, and developing scientific content for internal and external stakeholders. The focus and level of involvement across specific activities are determined based on the active needs of the therapeutic area team.
This position is part of the Content Excellence Team within MC&I and reports directly to an MC&I Director within the respective TA team. In collaboration with their Director, they also play a critical role in supervising and supporting Medical Information Managers within their team.
Accountabilities
• Demonstrate scientific and business expertise relevant to therapeutic areas, including knowledge about existing assets and pipeline.
• Stay abreast with the latest changes and trends in the therapeutic area landscape, including regulatory and compliance, to understand and respond to medical inquiries.
• Ensure that the medical content developed aligns with MC&I priorities and the overall medical strategy.
• Lead on US launch and congress deliverables with oversight of Director(s).
• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Medical Affairs and other partner functions.
• Provide staffing support for the MC&I booth at scientific meetings.
• Own the deliverables within your focus area, ensuring quality of content delivered through MIMs.
• Assist MC&I Directors with leading and planning tactical execution of content strategy plan.
• Accountable for development and maintenance of content plans with integration into iMAP.
Essential Skills/Experience
• Advanced degree in Pharmacy (PharmD preferred), Pharmacology, Science, or equivalent clinical experience
• 2-4 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry-based Drug/Medical Information/Scientific Communications or equivalent industry experience
• Demonstrated expertise in drug information communication and management
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Ability to apply local regulatory (e.g. FDA), legal, and compliance requirements to Medical Affairs activities and drug information delivery
• Understanding of the information needs for various customer segments
• Strong collaboration and leadership skills

• Pharmacy Licensure preferred
