Account Director - Immunology - West

As an Immunology Account Director, you will play a crucial role in channeling our scientific advancements to enhance patients' lives. You will deliver AstraZeneca's innovative science and commercial capabilities to healthcare leaders and key decision-makers, overseeing Immunology Account Managers and driving impactful change.

Accountabilities:
As an Immunology Account Director, you will report to the Executive Business Director and oversee the IAM team. You will work with identified IDN director-level leadership teams to advance AstraZeneca business priorities, including developing matrix-based account strategy plans, mapping key decision-makers across the IDN ecosystem, understanding formulary pull-through, navigating unique patient journeys per account, and delivering best-in-class clinical differentiation through Enriched Value Proposition communication. Your role will ensure your team maintains a clear external view of ongoing IDN system needs and changes to health system policies. You will lead local implementation of account planning with AstraZeneca's cross-functional customer-facing team to develop account-level strategies consistent with mutual business objectives and collaborate closely for effective plan implementation. You will be responsible for protocol pull-through success across assigned IDN child accounts. Additionally, you will understand commercial business strategy, cross-portfolio priorities, healthcare market dynamics, and specific IDN dynamics to identify business drivers for assigned accounts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate strategic opportunities within the geography and share market dynamics, account insights, and competitive intelligence. Lead a team responsible for planning and integrating account activities at the IDN local child level across AZ Immunology teams to achieve clear objectives. Engage with account leadership and decision-makers at the D-Suite level to communicate clinical rationale, connect Market Access colleagues for economic discussions, secure product formulary/pathway inclusion, and enable product access. Partner with leads across Medical Affairs and access strategy to identify issues, challenges, and possible account collaboration opportunities. Foster a Growth Mindset and continuous learning, using new technology and data insights to improve patient care and streamline process efficiency. Inspire a culture of entrepreneurial thinking and transformative patient-centric practices through mentoring, coaching, and continuous feed forward. Ensure compliance and ethical behavior for the team; provide first-line monitoring and oversight of team activities and customer interactions.

Essential Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 8+ years of demonstrated commercial or account management experience or a combination of pharmaceutical, healthcare, scientific, clinical, institutional or related industry
- 5+ years proven leadership capabilities and/or people management experience
- A valid driver’s license and safe driving record

Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Experience in sales leadership, field reimbursement, pharmacy leadership, medical leadership, or healthcare institution quality
- Experience in Immunology (Rheumatology preferred)
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Understanding of IDNs and the dynamics between child accounts and parent accounts
- Validated understanding of customer segments and regional market dynamics within Rheumatology
- Strong proficiency in critical thinking, project management, communication/presentation, and arbitration/influencing skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in Immunology clinical science and fluency in translating clinical outcomes and health economic data

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $158,776 to $238,165. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
