Summary of Position:

The Manager of Data Management, working collaboratively with multi-functional teams, plays a pivotal role in establishing robust data foundations for Alexion Canada's Patient Support Services (PSP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems. This position ensures data integrity, storage, governance, and compliance, vital for unlocking the full potential of our data. Key responsibilities include defining data management strategies, resolving data issues at the source, and developing standardized processes for efficient data governance. The role also involves bridging the gap between business and IT teams, collaborating with vendors to enhance processes, and executing projects to align with the company's strategic goals and objectives.

What You’ll Do:

PSP Data Management

  • Collaborate with teams to shape and prioritize data management strategy, focusing on master data management and modeling.
  • Address data inaccuracies at the source and ensure correct application with users and operations teams.
  • Proactively identify data issues using quality tools and reconciliations.
  • Develop efficient, user-friendly data governance processes.
  • Report on data governance performance and compliance within specified areas.
  • Guide Privacy Impact Assessments and manage associated risks, ensuring necessary actions.
  • Ensure data practices meet legal requirements with compliance and IT collaboration.
  • Support R&D IT with data engineering activities using Snowflake and Python/Lambda.
  • Test and verify new data solutions before release.


CRM & Data Management

  • Document business requirements for CRM enhancements and streamline workflows.
  • Ensure CRM data integrity and compliance.
  • Maintain and update target lists for the field force, ensuring accurate consent, segmentation and alignment with territories.


Stakeholder Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Act as a liaison to convert business needs into technical requirements.
  • Work with vendors to resolve data quality issues and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate globally to make business data accessible enterprise wide.
  • Recommend process enhancements and train end-users in data management.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Over 5 years in data analytics architecture within patient support services or healthcare, covering traditional warehousing, distributed computing, visualization, and master data management.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree in business management, analytics, or data science preferred.
  • Proficient in ETL and cloud techniques/tools, particularly AWS-based Python, Terraform, Glue, Lambda, S3, SQS, APIs, and Step Functions.
  • Strong SQL skills for data querying and manipulation.
  • Experienced with Power Query for data transformation.
  • Strong ability to resolve production issues and implement ETL best practices for error handling and optimization.
  • Familiar with Git for version control, including branching and merging.
  • Experience with databases like Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Athena, and Glue.
  • Experience in data governance and management, with an understanding of data privacy principles.
  • Deep understanding of Salesforce, Veeva CRM, with familiarity in marketing automation and customer segmentation.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance issues in customer engagement.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment across multiple time zones, both independently and within a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop new technical skills.
