Senior Analyst, PMO Portfolio (FTC)
The Senior Analyst, PMO Portfolio plays a crucial role in supporting the Alexion Operations Project Management Office (PMO) by analyzing project and portfolio data, providing insights, and ensuring effective management and governance of the organization's enterprise project portfolio. This role is vital in facilitating strategic decision-making and enhancing project execution. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills.
Accountabilities
- Collect, analyze, and report on portfolio data to provide insights into project performance, resource utilization, and financial tracking
- Design and deploy a PMO digital tool (i.e., Smartsheets) to govern projects at different levels
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to support decision-making within the PMO
- Monitor and report on resource allocation and utilization across the project portfolio
- Track progress vs. AO scorecard and milestones
- Help identify interdependencies across portfolio
- Analyze risk trends to inform portfolio-level risk management strategies
- Maintain a comprehensive log of enterprise program risks and issues, supporting their identification, assessment, and resolution
- Track and report on project and portfolio budgets, providing variance analysis and financial forecasting
- Support strategy deployment processes and support teams in meeting portfolio requirements (e.g., business cases, resourcing, benefits tracking)
- Assist project teams in developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and status reports
- Support project managers with methodologies and tools to enhance project execution and efficiency
- Identify and propose improvements to PMO processes and tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness in portfolio management
Essential Skills/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Project Management, or a related field
- 3 – 5 years of experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Ability to manage data output, do analysis
- Proficiency in project management software and data analysis tools (e.g., smartsheets, Power BI)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Experience in Pharma/Biotech Industry
- Certification in Project Management or related disciplines
- Experience with financial modeling and budget management
- OPEX/CAPEX project management experience
