HVAC Utilities Engineer
This is what you will do:
The HVAC Utilities Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all site HVAC utilities systems and controlled Temperature Units perform predictably and continue to operate as required in order to support the manufacturing operations process. The HVAC Utilities Engineer also ensures that all utility systems conform to relevant regulatory requirements as well as company specifications and requirements. The incumbent will also support the implementation of process improvements and enhancements. This includes scope definition, design, change control and project management while partnering with Quality and advancing projects through the relevant Alexion quality systems.
You will be responsible for:
· Be a system matter expert (SME) for all HVAC Utilities and cleanroom cGMP systems across the site
· Primary Point of Contact for HVAC Utility Projects across site.
· Participate on capital project teams through all phases of projects; these phases will include conceptual design, detailed design, equipment procurement, construction, installation, start up, commissioning, and qualification. Review of design documents, commissioning documents, FAT, SAT, SDS documents, contractor protocols. Attending FATs as required. Inspection of and acceptance of utility / HVAC installation.
· Support validation with Controlled Temperature Unit document reviews and investigations.
· Support the Site Wide Energy and Sustainability Program
· Generate and/or update Standard Operating Procedures or engineering work instructions as required.
· Responsible for initiation and completion of deviations, CAPAs, and change controls for utility systems
· Provide support to manufacturing and utility operations where required.
· Ensure adherence to and completion of preventative maintenance program.
HVAC Utilities Engineer

Reports To: Darren O’Malley, Utilities Manager
· Ensure that new equipment is included in the plant maintenance and calibration program.
· Plans and manages maintenance and shutdown activities.
· Performs investigations relating to system / equipment malfunctions.
· Provide engineering and technical support to enhance reliability of Utilities HVAC.
· SME support for internal and external regulatory audits.
· Play a primary role in continuous improvement of the site Utilities Programme to ensure compliance with all global, site and regulatory requirements.
· Perform additional duties at the request of the direct supervisor.
You will need to have:
· Multi-disciplined experience in mechanical/electrical/controls.
· A minimum of 5 years' experience working in an Engineering or Utilities / Facilities project role.
· A minimum of 5 Years cGMP industrial experience.
· Understanding and practical knowledge of Site HVAC Systems.
· Understanding and practical knowledge of CTU’s
· Experience in implementing root cause analysis and effective investigation practices in an Operational Excellence environment.
· Ability to keep work pace and meet deadlines. Good organising and planning skills.
· Demonstrated proficiency communicating and collaborating at a variety of levels with customers, vendors, equipment suppliers and operations staff.
· Hands on technical experience in Utilities / facilities systems and building management systems.
· Ability to communicate effectively with Cross Functional Stakeholders
We would prefer for you to have:
· An engineering degree or equivalent relevant engineering experience.
