Senior Director, Cell Therapy Business Systems

This role is part of the Operations team tasked with supporting Clinical and Commercial production across multiple sites.
The Senior Director, Business Systems (Cell Therapy) will lead the strategic planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of business systems supporting Cell Therapy operations across R&D, clinical, manufacturing, supply chain, regulatory, and commercialization functions. You will partner cross-functionally with key stakeholders to align digital and system capabilities with the unique and evolving needs of the cell therapy business. You will be based in Gaithersburg, MD and report to the Head of Cell Therapy Global Supply Chain.
You will provide:
Business System Vision: Act as a thought partner to senior leadership on digital transformation strategies and system investments. ·
Customer Experience and Cell Orchestration Enhancement: Design and implement strategies that expand core functionality and enhance the cell therapy customer experience on the cell orchestration digital platform.·
Digital and Data Strategy and Roadmap: Develop and execute a business systems roadmap tailored to Cell Therapy's growth and complexity, building from foundational to advanced capabilities. ·
Project Leadership: Lead selection, implementation, and optimization of key foundation platforms (e.g., SAP ERP, LIMS, MES, Advanced Planning).·
Requirements Definition: Define business process requirements for implementing foundational and advanced systems throughout the cell therapy value chain.
AI Integration: Collaborate with business units to identify operational use cases and assist IT in deploying AI technologies that optimize the cell therapy supply chain, manufacturing, and development processes.·
Change Management and Governance: Ensure delivery of system implementations with appropriate validation, compliance, and user adoption. Develop governance processes to prioritize and manage system changes and enhancements.
Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team of business analysts, project managers, and system owners.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and innovation.
You Have:
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
14 years of experience in IT or business systems leadership in biotech/pharma.
Experience with end-to-end supply, manufacturing, and quality processes in cell therapy required.
Experience applying AI to improve processes.
Experience as business lead for enterprise system implementations, including SAP, cell orchestration systems, Advanced Planning Systems, MES, and/or LIMS.
Experience in scaling systems in high-growth, complex organizations.
Familiarity with regulatory expectations related to digital systems

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $174,756 to $262,134. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program.
