Medical Strategy Lead

Join us as a Medical Strategy Lead, reporting directly to the Head of BPM Strategy. You will be accountable for the delivery and execution of key Biopharmaceutical Medical (BPM) strategic initiatives. A key focus for this role is embedding the Transform Care initiative across BPM and the broader enterprise, working closely with Global and Market cross-functional teams. This role will also focus on building and cultivating a vibrant community of Medical Directors as business leaders, applying their expertise to advance BPM's strategic goals.

Accountabilities:

As a Medical Strategy Lead, you will work collaboratively with Medical leadership teams, regions, and markets to embed Transform Care strategies across AstraZeneca’s core disease areas. You will partner effectively across functions to drive enterprise thinking, strategy set up, and execution for Transform Care. You will also define the leadership growth strategy for Medical Directors, including the ongoing management of the Medical Directors’ Network to build/cultivate a community of business leaders and support the delivery of BPM priorities.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor degree

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Medical Affairs or Commercial roles

  • A strategic mentality with a focus on operational excellence and value creation

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize information to develop recommendations, strategic imperatives, and actionable solutions

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex strategies in a clear and persuasive manner to diverse audiences

  • Strong project management skills, ability to establish strategic direction for cross-functional project teams

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Master's Degree

  • Global Medical Affairs or Regional Medical Affairs experience

  • Previous experience in Digital Innovation inside or outside pharma

  • Previous experience in Healthcare delivery

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $193,281 to $289,922. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
