Job Title: Director, R&D IT - Business Partner R&D
Introduction to role
The Director, R&D IT - Business Partner R&D will develop key relationships within their business area to build an in-depth understanding of priorities, gaining early insight into changing needs to ensure stakeholders gain appropriate value from IT services, capabilities and innovations. The role will drive the delivery of innovative business solutions to create maximum competitive advantage.
Accountabilities
Build strong relationships with stakeholder groups, developing a deep understanding of the short-term and long-term business direction.
Assess and prioritize requirements in line with IT strategy.
Develop and maintain the digital portfolio underpinning the business strategy, serving as the primary person accountable for demand planning and effective delivery of the plan.
Develop business impact assessment, identifying risks and issues that may affect current and future business units and roles, and create business readiness plan.
Develop and maintain performance metrics and proactively identify areas for improvement.
Present and gain commitment to IT initiatives, using specialist knowledge to gain commitment to established or new IT services.
Work collaboratively with:
Business stakeholders and leads spanning the clinical, regulatory and quality domains
IT stakeholders and leads spanning development, architecture and platform teams
Other IT Business Partners to create alignment and identify cross-business innovative opportunities.
Portfolio Managers and solution delivery leads to initiate projects, clearly define scope and monitor the delivery of project value compared to the promised benefits.
Support functions to ensure the IT services plans are established for the stakeholder group and are operating effectively.
Essential Skills/Experience
Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Director in an R&D IT role or equivalent relevant experience.
Previous experience working on AI related projects.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Good influencing, networking and team working skills.
High level awareness of developments in the Information Technology marketplace.
Skills in planning, change management and problem solving.
Ability to negotiate expectations with complex groups.
Ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language and vice versa.
Ability to articulate the benefits of innovative solutions aligned to the business area and organisation.
Desirable Skills/Experience
Ability to work well in and across diverse global teams.
Ability to partner and work in a matrix organisation.
