Commercial IT is a global IT capability supporting the Commercial organisation. We business partner with Commercial areas: Biopharma, Oncology, International and Japan – and also Rare Disease Unit. We operate out of hubs sites including in the UK, Sweden, US and out of our Global Innovation Technology Centres in India and Mexico – and in markets all over the world.

This role handles core leadership of US Patient Platforms & associated technologies covering E2E ownership and accountability of solutioning, low-level design, development, execution and operational management of production. Technologies: Salesforce Communities, Health Cloud, AgentForce, Einstein, Salesforce Voice over AWS & AppExchange implementations
This role sits within Solution and Service Delivery in Commercial IT and will leading collaboration across all engineering roles, test, capability & the business including working closely with third party suppliers both software vendors and professional services.
Typical Accountabilities
Platform Director will maintain deep working knowledge of platforms/products/infrastructure aligned with US Patient Services
Lead build, test, and deployment activities for assigned platform and IT product initiatives
The voice of technical expertise to peers and 3rd party development suppliers to ensure consistency in alignment to AZ IT and Commercial IT standards and processes taking ownership of both short-term and long-term solutioning strategies
Overseas platform engineering resources to ensure validation of business and functional requirements as part of product and platform development responsibilities – runs code reviews and defines, implements and tracks engineering standards
Serve as an internal consultant on key assigned platforms and technologies for IT and business partners across all business areas
Evaluate the applicability of new technologies / application features and make recommendations for technology and business strategic roadmaps through prototyping to determine technical viability
Help refine business requirements, set priorities, lead expectations, resolve issues, and work with the other members of the technical team to deliver innovative solutions
Collaborate with regional solution architects and capability teams to co-create functionalities with strategic markets with a view to scale globally
Demonstrate significant understanding of the application development processes of AstraZeneca’s implementation of the product – executes and managements CI/CD pipelines and own DevOps WOW including ensuring SLAs for incident management and service requests are met
Lead, mentor and coach the AZ Application Development team based globally to increase throughput and quality
Drives alignment with cyber security best practices ensuring platform is up-to-date and secure, manages all cyber security initiatives and implements fall-out processes in leadership role
Continuous Improvement and Innovation
Partners with Platform Success Lead(s) on continuous improvement opportunities within platform and product level backlogs, performs platform health checks and actions to mitigate operational risk
Identifies new hardware/software technologies to fit specialised business needs and configurations
Identify issues with current processes and complete proposed changes to enhance effectiveness of IT
Essential for the role
Bachelor's degree
10 years of developer experience in Salesforce
Understanding of the Salesforce technology stack – Salesforce Health Cloud, Salesforce Voice, Salesforce Communities mandatory
Understanding and use integration patterns – experience designing, implementing MuleSoft mandatory
Proven track record of designing and operating mission critical applications
Experience working with and influencing business and BA’s around Salesforce architecture and designs
Experience supporting and guiding development teams
Expertise in application design patterns and processes
Prior experience in an Information Services/Information Technology environment with good eye for business including SaaS & professional services contract management
Expertise in Continuous Integration and Deployment methods delivered as part of an agile team

Office Working Requirements

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $156,047.20 - 234,070.80USD as an annual base salary. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
