Associate Director, Enhertu Diagnostics US Medical Affairs

Job Summary

The Associate Director, Enhertu Diagnostics US Medical Affairs will be responsible for delivering market shaping activities to support the launch of the Phase III clinical trials Destiny Breast 15 and Destiny Breast 09 for Enhertu (trastuzumab deruxtecan), a novel antibody-drug conjugate for the treatment of HER2-positive breast cancer. The primary responsibilities will be healthcare provider (HCP) education on HER2 testing for breast cancer patients, evidence generation to fill expected gaps in clinical trial data, and insight gathering from HCPs to inform on strategic initiatives in diagnostics education within the competitive breast cancer treatment landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and execution of HER2 testing education or equivalent experience programs for pathologists as Enhertu moves into earlier lines of therapy for metastatic breast cancer patients
  • Engage with professional societies and advocacy groups to raise awareness and understanding of HER2 testing and treatment implications.
  • Collaborate with AstraZeneca cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of medical strategy and tactics in preparation for clinical trial readouts.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation evidence generation projects to address unmet medical needs and data gaps in Enhertu diagnostics.
  • Conduct regular insight gathering activities, such as market reports surveys, and interviews, to understand the needs, preferences, and barriers to testing of HCPs and patients regarding Enhertu diagnostics in the US.
  • Monitor and analyze the competitive landscape and emerging trends in HER2 testing and breast cancer treatment, and provide timely and relevant updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and ethical standards for medical affairs activities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • MD, PhD or PharmD a relevant medical or scientific field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in in a pharmaceutical company preferably in oncology
  • Broad knowledge of biomarkers and diagnostics in oncology and breast cancer therapeutic landscape
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking, and decision-making skills with the ability to adapt to a dynamic working environment.
  • Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and implement multiple tasks and projects.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented, and customer-focused approach, with the ability to work effectively in a matrix organization.

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $174,283.20 - 261,424.80 USD. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program. Benefits offered include a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
