Position Title:Public Affairs Manager (Corporate Affairs Department)

Position Type: Regular, Full-Time, Hybrid

What you’ll do

 Reporting to the Corporate Affairs Director, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring smooth and timely alignment of strategic therapeutical areas (TAs) priorities with AstraZeneca’s local corporate affairs, market access and business priorities
  • Developing, validating and implementing of AstraZeneca’s therapeutical areas public affairs projects and planning of related activities.
  • Contributing actively to the creation and implementation of strategic policy initiatives that support patients’ access, relevant for the TAs, in line with AstraZeneca Romania priorities, alongside relevant internal cross-functional teams.
  • Prioritizing partnerships to address HC challenges and inefficiencies in the areas with the highest benefits for patients
  • Coordinating projects around TAs healthcare policies, engaging both internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Contribution to multiple policy projects to help AstraZeneca to advance improved healthcare policies for the patients benefit and communicate important TAs policy messages to internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribution to engagements with key internal or external groups, such as patient’s engagement, market access, marketing and medical colleagues, industry associations, medical societies, dedicated media platforms
  • Carrying out research, either individually or as part of a team, into areas that may support HC policies practice changes in the TAs
  • Helping brand leaders develop policy programs and specific strategies for the TAs
  • Building and participates in internal and external networks that are related with the TAs and disseminate best practices internally
  • May have budget management responsibilities
  • Responsible for communicating with and organizing external vendors and service providers for the TAs public affairs projects
  • Acting as a resource in TAs public affairs and related communication/engagements, helping managers and other colleagues building integrated policy approaches
  • Acts as a resource in political and macroeconomics analyses and their impact for the healthcare and TAs policies

Your profile

  • You are a team player; the ability to develop themselves and support others.
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset; asking challenging ‘why’ questions, suggesting new opportunities and navigating through ambiguous situations.
  • You are a strong communicator; excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills with attention to detail. Understanding of new media, especially social media
  • A curious connector; an ability to work with cross functional stakeholders, connecting the dots between people, projects and partners.
  • You are comfortable with change; Be agile! Things change all the time in Health Care.
  • You are proud to serve patients and consider them in every decision you take. Strive to understand the needs of diverse patient populations and act accordingly.
  • You have a university degree – preferably in social or humanistic sciences or marketing or economics
  • Knowledge of Romanian legislative policies relevant for job responsibilities
  • Understanding of external environment and stakeholders’ relevance for the project’s purposes
  • Understanding of the healthcare/reimbursement environment
  • You are fluent in English
  • You have extensive experience of policy/communication and project management
