Associate Director, Contract Analytics

As the Associate Director, Market Access Contract Analytics, you will be at the forefront of analyzing payer and provider contracts, supporting our strategic contracting team for the Alexion portfolio. Your insights will drive brand performance, contract ROI, and future contract modeling scenarios. This role is based in Alexion’s Boston headquarters and reports to the Executive Director, US Strategic Contracting & Pricing.
Accountabilities
- Develop processes to track payer and provider contract performance to ensure compliance and provide analytics support for Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
- Offer strategic guidance on contracting opportunities by demonstrating insights from historical contract performance.
- Drive the estimation of potential return on investment on prospective contracts, thoroughly assessing impact to ASP.
- Model contract scenarios pre-deal to inform contracting decisions and forecasts.
- Perform post-deal contract analyses to understand return on investment and inform future assumptions.
- Maintain a centralized repository of pre- and post-deal analyses for future reference.
- Maintain ASP calculation models to forecast the impact of additional contracts on ASP erosion.
- Work with the Contract Management and Operations team to ensure viability of contract modeling scenarios.
- Calculate and track net cost recovery across all channels for Alexion products.
- Coordinate with the Account Management team to gather inputs/customer intelligence for contract modeling.
- Identify and raise risks of segments or partners potentially being underwater on Alexion products.
- Lead complex analyses on customer contracts, delivering informative insights and actionable recommendations.
Essential Skills/Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant area of study
- 4+ years’ experience in a U.S. biotech/biopharma or pharmaceutical market access analytics role
- Knowledge of the business models, influence/impact, and decision drivers of U.S. commercial and government payers and providers
- Strong patient-focused approach
- Ability to demonstrate large data sets to derive and communicate insights, and model scenarios
- Understanding of US payer and provider contracting strategies
- Understanding of reimbursement methodologies applied by commercial and government payers and providers under the medical and pharmacy benefits
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex business challenges and data-driven recommendations effectively and concisely to senior leaders
- Outstanding ability to analyze business trends and identify opportunities for growth and value-creation
- Proficiency in excelling in a fast-paced, highly responsible environment where individuals can make a significant impact
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization and using excellent influencing and negotiating skills
- High level of experience using Microsoft Excel (e.g. pivot tables)
- Ability to implement individually and by leading cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence in the face of challenging goals
- Explore innovative approaches in evolving landscape
- Up to 15% travel as required
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Advanced degree or equivalent experience
- Ability to complete quantitative and qualitative analyses of complex business proposals
- BioPharma/Pharmaceutical rare disease contract analytics experience
