Enterprise AI Governance Policy Manager

The Enterprise AI Governance Policy Manager is a high-profile role designed to drive forward AstraZeneca’s commitment to ensuring that AI is developed, deployed, and used in a safe, responsible, and ethical manner. You will become a core part of AstraZeneca’s Enterprise AI Governance team, which is part of the Enterprise Data Office. The mission of Enterprise AI Governance is to ensure that AstraZeneca can maximize the value of AI while managing risks, complying with regulations, and protecting our business and patients.
In this role, you will drive efforts to enable AstraZeneca to manage AI governance at scale, utilizing world-class technology platforms and capabilities. We leverage technology to deliver and enable all aspects of AI governance, including cataloging AI use cases, applications, and models, performing AI risk assessments, tracking and reporting on AI usage, risk, and compliance, and testing AI performance.
To continue maturing our AI governance approach and enable compliance by design, we require an exceptional, product-oriented individual to become the Enterprise AI Governance Policy Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring AI governance platforms and tools are developed and rolled out effectively, driving user adoption, and maintaining alignment with our AI governance policy framework.

Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain a focused product vision and roadmap for AI governance tools and platforms.
- Align product strategy with AstraZeneca’s wider AI governance strategy and objectives.
- Conduct user research to understand key pain points and codify requirements.
- Create user personas and journey maps to inform product development and decision-making.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure intuitive and efficient user experiences.
- Define and document detailed and clear product requirements.
- Create user stories and acceptance criteria for development and engineering teams.
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure accurate and timely implementation of requirements.
- Coordinate with governance, legal, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to relevant AI regulations (e.g., EU AI Act).
- Engage with stakeholders across AstraZeneca to gather input, build consensus, and champion AI governance.
- Develop and execute strategies to drive user adoption of AI governance tools and platforms.
- Build and nurture a community of engaged users.
- Create training materials and documentation for AstraZeneca users.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for AI governance technology enablement.
- Analyze user feedback and usage data to identify areas for improvement and further development.
- Build strong relationships across the organization and serve as an ambassador for AI governance.
Essential Skills/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g., Innovation, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Studies, Artificial Intelligence etc.).
- 5+ years of relevant work experience.
- Experience working in a product-related role in an IT or technology context.
- Experience conducting user research, defining user requirements, and developing product roadmaps.
- Ability to translate and distill technical concepts in an accessible and engaging way.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
- Adept at engaging with senior leaders and important stakeholders.
- Sound judgment and ability to make informed and reliable decisions.
- Excellent knowledge of product management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Jira, product roadmapping tools etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into clear product features.
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Postgraduate degree in relevant field (e.g., Innovation, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Studies, Artificial Intelligence etc.).
- Experience working in a senior product role directly relating to AI and/or data science.
- Knowledge and experience in AI, data science, and machine learning.
- Knowledge and experience in AI governance, policy, and compliance (e.g., EU AI Act).
- Experience working with governance, risk, and compliance technology platforms and tooling.
- Experience working with AI, MLOps, and data science platforms and tooling.
