Enterprise AI Governance Operational Associate

The Enterprise AI Governance Operational Associate is an exciting role to support AstraZeneca’s work to ensure that AI is developed, deployed, and used in a safe, responsible, and ethical way. You will become a core part of AstraZeneca’s Enterprise AI Governance team, which is part of the Enterprise Data Office. The mission of Enterprise AI Governance is to ensure that AstraZeneca can maximise the value of AI while managing risks, complying with regulations, and protecting our business and patients.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that AstraZeneca’s AI governance processes are operating smoothly and efficiently, and that we are effectively responding to and prioritising business initiatives and requests. You will also implement changes that enable the team to effectively manage AI governance at scale.
A typical week will include executing internal AI governance communications campaigns, presenting on AI governance at forums and town hall meetings, creating content for AI literacy and training sessions, and building dashboards to report metrics for AI risk and compliance tracking.
To continue maturing our AI governance approach and to enable compliance by design, we require an exceptionally well-organised and process-oriented individual to become the Enterprise AI Governance Operational Associate Manager. The successful candidate will have a background in project management, team coordination, and data analysis.

Accountabilities
As the Enterprise AI Governance Operational Associate, you will be the linchpin in our team's daily operations, managing critical communication channels, streamlining processes, and providing data-driven insights to enhance our AI governance framework. Typical accountabilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Generate regular reports on key AI governance metrics and KPIs.
· Design and implement dashboards to visualize AI governance data and trends.
· Conduct data analysis to identify areas for improvement in AI governance processes.
· Coordinate and disseminate AI governance updates, policies, and best practices across the organisation.
· Develop and maintain internal knowledge bases, documentation, and training materials.
· Organise and facilitate AI governance training sessions and workshops.
· Prepare materials and presentations for key meetings.
· Serve as the key point of contact for AI governance inquiries and support requests.
· Triage and resolve support tickets, escalating complex issues to appropriate team members.
· Support with AI governance activities including review of new AI use cases and compliance assurance assessments.
Essential Skills/Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g., Innovation, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Studies, Artificial Intelligence, Project Management etc.).
· 2+ years of relevant work experience within a technology-focused environment.
· Proficiency in data analysis and visualisation tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau etc.).
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
· Experience in designing, managing, and improving operational processes.
· Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Miro etc.).
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Skills/Experience
· Postgraduate degree in relevant field (e.g., Innovation, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Studies, Artificial Intelligence, Project Management etc.).
· Experience working on AI governance, policy, and compliance.
· Knowledge of healthcare industry regulations and standards.
