Portfolio Management & Planning – Director/Associate Director

Typical Accountabilities

  • Design and optimize R&D China portfolio and project management related system/process/template
  • Acountable for high quality portfolio report for the R&D China LT for overall portfolio planning, analysis, tracking and priortization
  • Drive professional capacity management for the entire R&D China portfolio of projects
  • Providing R&D China LT with high quality information on capacity utilisation of drug projects in the organisation
  • Overall accountable for technical support (e.g. PLANIT) to project teams and line functions strategic and tactical demand/supply management (drug/non-drug projects)
  • As a member of PPM LT to drive function priorities/initiatives
  • Drive the capability development of PPM function
  • Interact with relevant China R&D function stakeholders to ensure collaboration and efficient execution of project management system/process/initiatives
  • Provide line management to direct reports

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in relevant scientific discipline
  • Extensive experience in Project Management within a pharmaceutical or clinical environment
  • Solid knowledge of drug development and project management, with both global and China experience
  • Proven ability on project management and process optimization
  • Proven ability to evaluate data generated from various reports and source
  • Proven ability to collaborate and handle multiple priorities within a matrix environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders within AstraZeneca

Desirable

  • PhD in scientific discipline
  • Expert reputation  within the business and industry
  • Extensive knowledge of the latest technical and regulatory expectations
  • Extensive experience in Project Management process improvement
