AstraZeneca is the fastest growing company in Oncology in Asia Area. AstraZeneca’s Oncology portfolio, which includes Haematology, will continue to power our double-digit growth aspiration in the next 3 years. We are also accelerating the expansion of our geographical footprint in rare diseases. Rare diseases is a high-growth therapy area with rapid innovation and significant unmet medical need. Over 7,000 rare diseases are known today – yet less than 1% of them have an approved treatment.

We are implementing a new Go to Market model for Haematology-Oncology & Rare Disease that establishes a Center of Excellence (Launch Hub) to lead franchise strategy and assist in-country execution across the Southeast Asian (SEA) markets.

What you’ll do

Field-based position responsible for implementation of activities for establishment of scientific leadership of AstraZeneca.  This includes development and enhancement of professional relationships with healthcare professionals, building deep scientific understanding of AstraZeneca compounds. Driving positive opinions for the scientific and clinical value of AZ compounds for patients’ needs. Deliver medical education and clinical support to medical professionals, training sales teams and involvement in development of brand strategy. The position may also be involved in review of product materials and response to medical queries.

As a Medical Scientific Liaison at AZ, you will be accountable to Build, enhance and maintain the engagement with scientific leaders (KEEs); Build and maintain trust-based relationships with external stakeholders; and also Develop or initiate scientific programs to explore unmet medical needs in priority disease area(s). You will act as scientific expert in priority disease area(s) for internal stakeholders; Continuously demonstrate development of scientific expertise in disease area(s) of company focus. You will also comply with relevant company and industry code of Conduct and also to comply with local country codes.

Essential for the role

  • Preferably having medical degree, however degree in life sciences will be considered.

  • Having at least 2-3 years of experience as MSL in MNC Pharma companies.

  • Experience in the areas of Haematology, Oncology, Rare Disease and/or specialty medicine

  • Thorough knowledge or experience of the pharmaceutical industry and the area of field medical liaisons

  • Ability to interact and manage a range of stakeholders both internally and externally

  • Knowledge of legislation relevant to pharmaceutical sales and marketing

  • Fluency in English

Depending on candidate experience, this position may be filled at the following levels: Medical Scientific Liaison/ Senior Medical Scientific Liaison.
