Project Controls Lead - Global Operations
Join our Global Engineering and Real Estate’s Capital Projects (Project Services) function as a Project Controls Lead. This role offers the opportunity to provide project controls leadership and hands-on support to one or more projects, while contributing to business process management in aspects of project controls. Reporting to the Regional Project Controls Lead, you will be part of a team that is committed to delivering more medicines to patients, quicker and more affordably.

In Global Engineering and Real Estate (GERE) we engage in a diverse range of exciting endeavours! Our team is responsible for construction, acquiring, managing and maintaining numerous pioneering facilities and work spaces around the world. We are also providing strategic direction – assisting the business in making sound property and asset decisions, as well as integrating the newest technology. Your role
As a Project Controls Lead, you will be responsible for project controls implementation and leadership, typically on a large project or collection of smaller projects. You will establish and maintain project controls service level agreements, responsibility matrices etc., providing clarity over responsibilities amongst internal and external resources. You will also develop and maintain accurate staffing plans for the project(s) to ensure right-sized teams and timely mobilisation. Your role will involve liaising with AstraZeneca Finance and/or other stakeholders as required to ensure project performance data is open, transparent and supports corporate requirements.
Essentials for the role
- Engineering, construction management or equivalent degree
- At least 10 years of work experience in Projects controls (Cost control, planning & scheduling etc)
- Appropriate experience and knowledge in project control, planning and/or construction management
- Strong understanding of Risk management and Change management processes from capital projects.
- Awareness of cost and schedule quantitative risk analysis
- Training or some experience of scheduling software e.g. Primavera, Microsoft Project etc.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Able to work effectively with multiple project and management teams.
- Great teammate, willing to consider and accept other views and concepts in reaching critical decisions
- Strong stakeholder management skills. Able to manage service providers and contractors for delivery of project controls services
- Able to perform work as required on project sites or at contractor office locations. Can support business travel if required
- Demonstrated record of delivering services for relevant project sizes and complexities
Desirables for the role
- Bio-pharmaceutical experience & knowledge
- International project experience
- Professional accreditation in field of expertise
- Hands-on experience of quantitative risk analysis
- Understanding of estimating practices
- Contracts Management from projects based in Sweden
