We are looking for a highly experienced individual to lead our Connected Intelligence platform in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have industry experience working on a range of different Data Science/ML and Competitive Intelligence subject areas, e.g., creating data preparation pipelines, modelling, and training ML Models as well as deploying inferencing pipelines to process unseen data at scale. The position will involve taking these skills and applying them to some of the most exciting data & prediction problems in Competitive Intelligence. You will work as part of a distributed team of deeply technical data scientists, knowledge engineers & machine learning engineers and have the chance to create tools that will advance the standard of healthcare improving the lives of millions of patients across the globe.

You will work closely with scientists & product teams and learn to deliver reusable AI solutions at scale within the AstraZeneca tech stack, whilst encouraging standard methodologies for AI across the company.

You will help envision, build, deploy, and develop our next generation of AI tools for Connected Intelligence at scale.


  • Bachelors/master’s in computer science or related quantitative field or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field

  • 8+ years’ experience in line management and task management roles

  • 8+ years’ experience of vendor management e.g., onboarding new resources through 3rd parties, managing contracts, ensuring performance of 3rd party resources

  • 8+ years’ experience operating in a customer facing support role

  • Understands the value of ticket management and engagement with customers for BAU activities

  • Proficient understanding of web applications and software development

  • Hands on experience leading and implementing a project communications approach

  • Sufficient experience in website analytics and knowledge of the benefits these can provide

  • Previous experience with Java, React & Kubernetes.

  • Previous development experience with Python
