The Distribution Specialist (DS) provides operational support for all trade, sample, and patient assistance distribution at AZ and third-party distribution center, planning activities associated with transportation, warehousing, inventory levels, materials handling, order administration, and communication networks associated with AZ’s transfers of pharmaceutical products from manufacturing sources to AZ’s network of distribution centers. The DS supports vendor governance oversight model for third-party vendors providing warehousing, logistics support for trade, samples, and free goods processes. The DS is responsible for supporting sample product launches and alternative brand sample programs.
What you will do:
Distribution, Inventory, and Vendor Management:
Coordination and execution of stock replenishment activities and management of inventory levels ensuring sufficient stocking levels at our Distribution Centers
Reconciliation of warehouse inventory balances to SAP.
Provide operational support in monitoring and reporting department key performance metrics
Support budget delivery to include the analyses of impacted customer distribution agreements and maintenance of internal systems of reporting as the need arises to support the budget management process
Support tactical business needs for all trade, sample, and patient assistance distribution process
Bachelors Degree (i.e., business administration, business logistics, marketing, finance, or other related fields)
Minimum of 2 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or consumer products
Knowledge of basic account concepts either through practical experience or formal education
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
Proven ability to manage multiple projects/tasks effectively
Demonstrated ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams
Problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
Understanding of and experience in some or all of the following: governance/compliance, auditing, inventory, and supply chain management
Knowledge of SAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, Good Manufacturing Practice, Good Distribution Practice systems, Prescription Drug Marketing Act
