Job Summary:

AS a Medical Educator you will be responsible for medical education, key stakeholder engagement and project management in AZ County market.

The Medical Educator role will support medical education for the product for both internal and external customers, advocate for evidence-based product differentiation, changes in medical practice, lead or contribute to national or regional Medical and/or County commercial innovations, lead knowledge sharing, resource integration, customer engagement and insight collection from health decision makers within medical affairs department.

This role works closely with field-based customer-facing roles in Medical Affairs (e.g., Medical Science Liaison) and Commercial (e.g. sales representatives and first line sale managers).

Typical Accountabilities:

-Serves as an expert on products within assigned therapeutic area; maintains up-to-date knowledge at all times, and gathers scientific insight from clinical practice leaders to shape brand strategies and medical activities

-Develops scientific partnerships with diverse healthcare decision makers to ensure the safe and effective use of AstraZeneca marketed products.

-Delivers disease education programs and product information within assigned therapeutic area and Implements market shaping activities within broad range of healthcare providers.

- Responds reactively to requests for information on scientific data on unapproved indications and products

-Delivers sales training on assigned products to enhance sales representatives’ scientific knowledge and understanding

-Participates in Key Account Management meetings at local/community healthcare institutions and accounts

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree - with preference to an advanced scientific degree (M.Sc.)
  • Prior experience in customer facing roles (sales/medical etc’)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to interact and manage a range of stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Very good English skills
  • Desirable:
  • Thorough knowledge or experience of the pharmaceutical industry
  • Prior experience in a field medical affairs role
  • Experience in cardiovascular-renal and metabolic field
  • Project and team management experience
