The Global Tax Strategy Partnering (GTSP) team is a solely advisory team, responsible for the development and execution of tax strategy and business partnering. It comprises 9 individuals across the UK, Sweden and the US. GTSP, together with the Global Tax Operations team, the Transfer Pricing Team and the Indirect tax team make up AstraZeneca’s Group Tax team; part of the wider Finance organisation within AstraZeneca and based in our Global Headquarters.
As an Associate Director/Director within this team you will report to the UK Director for GTSP and be a key part of the GTSP team. You will be involved in international project work comprising the development and execution of tax strategy.
Specifically you will:
Provide effective tax support on structuring project, global licensing deals and collaborations, M&A work and post deal integration.
Work with the business to identify and manage tax risks, and identify opportunities for tax savings and efficiencies
Provide strategic guidance regarding tax and business efficient supply chains.
Work closely with members of the Global Tax Operations and Transfer Pricing teams to manage tax risk, reporting and compliance implications of projects.
Manage ad-hoc project as appropriate
This role would ideally suit a Senior Manager/Director in a Big Four firm looking to apply their skills in-house for the first time, or an experienced in house professional from a similar role in very large MNE, actively managing large M&A and structuring projects.
Essential for the role
You will be a chartered accountant and /or chartered tax advisor with significant experience obtained in providing tax advice to very large MNEs obtained in a Big Four environment and/or an MNE substantially equivalent to AstraZeneca
You will have strong technical capability with a detailed knowledge of UK and International Tax, particularly in the M&A and International space.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
You will have the ability to manage numerous complex projects and progress actions in a co-ordinated and organised manner.
Desirable for the role
Detailed experience of transfer pricing preferable but not essential.
This position could be considered at career level F or G
